Today, one does not get very many chances to see the inner workings of a clock. In years gone by, there were covers on clocks and pocket watches that it was possible to flip open and see the gears working. With the electric/battery workings on today's newer clocks, we don't get the chance to see the gears turn.
Some talented artists have addressed this lack in current culture by creating clock faces that show the gears. Here are some recent designs found on Zazzle.com.
